Welfare Benefits Caseworker x2

We are looking for two experienced Welfare Benefits Caseworkers to deliver our Macmillan Cancer Support Project. Since 2008 we have been providing a welfare benefits advice service for people affected by cancer.  We aim to inform those newly diagnosed or living with cancer about our service and how to access it, and to offer ongoing support throughout the cancer journey.  This service is provided mainly over the phone.

The postholders will have responsibility for ensuring delivery of the five day-a-week benefits caseworker service within a team. The postholders will be expected to offer outreach appointments at the Royal Surrey and East Surrey Hospitals (by appointment only).  The postholders will also be involved in delivering support group talks and training sessions to health professionals.

You will need at least two years in-depth experience as a trained welfare benefits Citizens Advice caseworker or equivalent. Own transport is desirable as there is a requirement to undertake outreach appointments. An enhanced DBS check is required for these roles.

These posts are fixed-term until 31 March 2018.
